say hello to gloomy weather
Thursday, 10 January 2008 @ 4:36 pm
had afternoon bite in this cafe and its so unique. so many random writings on the wall like the one above.
its 0037 now, which is 0937 in perth and 0837 in malaysia/singapore.
friend of mine just downloaded skype for me and i was so tempted to call you guys.
BUT knowing all of you(esp cristal), itll piss the shit outta you if the phone starts ringing around this hour.
fourteen hours flight wasnt that bad at all actually! eventhough i didnt get much sleep, time flies somehow. didn't watch that many movies either too! ive watched 80% of the movies available. so ended up watching the nanny diaries(again), daddy day camp and random korean shows. and i transit in spore for like few hours, and they just opened the new terminal (three) on that day! so good thing was that urmm.. i was the first few people who stepped in the terminal? and who boarded from there? but the lounges were still not ready and they're still vacuuming and stuff. but i salute singapore, really. the terminal is wow-to-the-max. there are sooo many branded shops, you wont get bored even if youre in the airport for like a day or smth. and the thing i love most about the new terminal is that there's so much greeneries and you dont feel like its in a closed building (if you know what i mean). there are even birds flying around!
anyway, so lawndawn. not exactly living in that town, im currently in oxford (an hour and a half drive from london). yes, it is where oxford university is. one of the best places ive seen. perfect for sight-seeing and its such a perfect place to study. you can walk around at midnight, and there are still many youngsters cycling and walking in the streets, and theyre not dangerous as well. yes they do whistle and shout here and there, but people here are friendly. so anyway, its pretty much like perth, compared to like london which is more central like melb or sydney. BUT they have nightlife. the shops here are old(exterior wise) and antique, but its all the good shops. they have like GAP,topshop,FCUK etc everywhere and they even have like those higher class branded ones too (havent seen them yet but will soon). and im living in like a small house which is near the central area (only an alley away) which is safe and my neighbours are oxford boys:):) and in the afternoons, in cafes and stuff there's so many tall young preppy pretty face college guys (most of them goes to oxford uni), reading novels and having coffee at cafes. and the library is still full at 4am!
So anyway, im not sure if im going stay here to take bachelorsdegree and everything. but im definitely taking a short course and ill see if i like it cos uni starts in september anyway. and short courses are only a months long which is good cos if i dont like it ill still be in time for curtin in perth! and friends wise, have only met a couple, and they are nice people but of course no one can beat you guys:) im still vy tired (jet lagged) but will update soon to occupy time too.
its like a curse to take pic of the phone booth when you step in london
the three pictures above, one of the most unique hotels ive ever seen. you probably have heard of this before. so last time, it was a jail (like a real one). and they didnt change th foundation, only renovate here and there. and the rooms and structure is still like a jail. didnt get to see the rooms but seriously, its one of the coolest thing ive ever seen.
so the above pictures, is of like a small tent on a tree in front of a cathedral. so the deal is that this tree was supposed to be torn down. But people go on strike cos they dont want this particular tree to be torn down or anything. so someone actually lives up there to make sure it wont happen. imagine living up on a tree in like a winter (raining occasionally) condition!
bye
i miss (in no particular order):
